POSDATA Announces Release of Casino Tools Drop Box ApplicationMay 22, 2001POSDATA, Inc., a value-added systems integrator of automatic identification, point of sale equipment, and tracking applications, announced today the release of Casino Tools, a software application utilizing the Symbol Technologies Phaser line of scanners. The application enables casinos with drop box slot machines to track the movement of a drop box from the machine to the soft count room. "The Casino Tools drop box locator system has quickened our drop by 30%," Muckleshoot Casino's Dan Crites said. "However, the best thing about it is the ease of use on the floor. No more machine-to-box matching, any drop box will do." Previously, drop boxes were required to match the machine they came from, per the Washington Administrative Code, Section 230-40-840. Casino Tools eliminates the need to match up drop boxes on the casino floor due to bar code data collection. By bar coding the drop boxes, Casino Tools generates a report matching up drop boxes to machines.
